AI Disclosure

ReceWise may use AI to:

• Read an uploaded receipt or invoice and identify information such as the merchant, purchase date, totals, and line items.
• Turn abbreviated or unclear register text into more readable product information.
• Suggest product details or categories where supported by the service.

Price comparisons are not generated solely by AI. They may be based on your saved purchase history and information obtained from third-party retailer, product, search, or location services.

When AI receipt extraction is used, the receipt image, PDF, or other file you submit — including information visible on that receipt — may be sent to our AI service provider for processing.

ReceWise currently uses OpenAI for this functionality.

Your account email is not intentionally included in the receipt-extraction request because it is not needed to perform the extraction.

OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models by default unless the API customer explicitly chooses to share that data for model improvement.

The resulting structured purchase information may then be stored in your ReceWise account as described in our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated extraction is probabilistic and may be incorrect.

For example, faded print, damaged receipts, unusual layouts, handwriting, abbreviations, or unfamiliar products can lead to:

• incorrect product names
• missed items
• incorrect quantities or sizes
• incorrect prices or totals
• missed discounts
• incorrect categories

AI output should be treated as an assistive draft, not as an authoritative financial record.

When accuracy matters, the original receipt or retailer record should be treated as the primary source.

ReceWise is designed to let you review extracted information before it is added to your finalized purchase history.

Where supported, you may:

• edit extracted information
• correct product details or categories
• remove incorrect items
• manually enter information when extraction is unsuccessful

A receipt file and its extracted information may be uploaded, stored, and processed before you complete review. The purchase is not added to your finalized purchase history until you review and save it.

ReceWise does not use receipt extraction to make automated decisions that determine your eligibility for employment, credit, housing, insurance, or other similarly significant opportunities.

AI-generated extraction, categories, insights, and price comparisons are provided for informational purposes.

They are not tax, accounting, financial, medical, or legal advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for reviewing the underlying receipt or obtaining appropriate professional advice where needed.
